Vale da Esteva supported the screening of the documentary “The Letter: A Message for our Earth”. This initiative was organised by Quercus – Regional Branch of Castelo Branco, with the support of the Parish Councils of Lardosa and Cafede. We believe that regeneration begins with listening. The Letter invites us to act, to care, and to rebuild our connection with the Earth.

The Chapel of the Holy Spirit in Castelo Branco was the setting for a commemorative session marking the 10th anniversary of Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si’. The initiative was led by Cristina Levine Martins Xavier de Sousa, founder and CEO of Vale da Esteva – Harmonious Jungle and a Laudato Si’ Animator, with the support of the Parish Council and the Parishes of Castelo Branco.

The Parish Council of Castelo Branco promoted the continuation of the planting of the Forest of the Friends of the Environment on the grounds of the Alvoracões / Lirião Neighbourhood Association, with the involvement of local school groups. The initiative included the donation of 80 trees and technical support from Harmonious Jungle-Vale da Esteva, within the framework of the Community Commitment Protocol established with the Parish Council.

The 2nd Co-Management Forum in Protected Areas was held in Segura, Idanha-a-Nova, under the compelling theme “Forests: Economic dynamics, innovation and future”. This theme, which is of utmost importance to our work, guided our discussions and presentations.

The meeting was a testament to our commitment to sustainable management, with a particular focus on the Tejo International Natural Park. This emphasis on sustainability should give us all hope for the future.

During the panel on innovation, Cristina Xavier de Sousa, the founder of Harmonious Jungle – Vale da Esteva, shared her insights and presented the REVE programme – Regeneration of the Vale da Esteva Ecosystems.

April 28 and 29,  2025 

Cristina Xavier de Sousa, CEO of Vale da Esteva, and Marta Velez, Administrative Manager, attended the Nature Finance Forum Europe 2025 and Sustainable Investment Forum Europe conferences in Paris on April 28 and 29 as observers. 

The participation in these two reference forums reaffirms Vale da Esteva®’s commitment to sustainable finance, ecological regeneration, the valuation of natural capital, and alignment with the latest sustainable finance strategies at the European level.

March 27, 2025 

On March 27th, we welcomed a group of approximately 15 third-year Agronomy students from ESACB-IPCB, accompanied by Professor José Coutinho.

The students visited the farm facilities, including the machinery park. The visit then continued towards the vineyard, with the walk taking place on foot. Along the way, the forestry work carried out on the property was presented.

On the lands of the Alvoracões/Lirião Neighborhood Association, together with the Castelo Branco Parish School Groups, we planted the Friends of the Environment Forest (90 native trees). And we started the project GROWING WITH A TREE AS A GODDAUGHTER.

The Market of Knowledge and Flavours was held at the Mãos de Horta Restaurant, an organic market, with the participation of local producers. A stall entirely dedicated to children, popular music, and local products delighted everyone who passed by. It is an event to be repeated!
